  2. Hard to swallow pills for r/ireland:

    He’s tied with MLM as the most popular party leader in Ireland (they’re within a few percentage points/the margin of error with each other and have been for years now).

    He’s *considerably* more popular than his party.

    Please don’t be a fucking moron and assume that by typing this I mean I think he’s brilliant. All I’m saying is that he’s been in frontline politics for decades and loads of people think ‘ah, the devil I know’ when they think of him.

    Who are they going to dump him for? Someone half the country’s never heard of? Someone with Leo-level approval ratings? Some gobdaw who opposed the 8th amendment?

    SF and FG would love that that’s for sure.

  3. It’s not surprising. Martin has done a good job during his time as FF leader to ensure there is no one viable to replace him
