Hello, I live in south korea and I’m a big fan of Serie A.

I saw Atalanta vs Ac milan.

In the youtube video, at 2:19

the commentator says “He shaking off the ketchup bottle”

Can anyone tell me what that means?

  1. As an American, I have no idea what the hell he’s trying to say.

  2. I tried to look this up in “Do You Speak Football” by Tom Williams and there was no mention of it.

  3. Imo, its a reference from previous the previous line “the goals are flowing”.

I just looked up and Jovic had not scored until last week’s game, and now he scored in 2 matches in a row.

So probably a reference to shaking off the ketchup bottle for it to come out

  4. It’s my first time coming across this expression but if I have to guess, it’s similar to “he’s giving it his all”.

  5. Like when you’re trying to get ketchup out of the bottle, and it won’t come out, until it comes out all at once.

Similarly, Jović had several dry matches before, but now he scored two goals in the last two matches.
