Israel has extended its military operations throughout the Gaza Strip • FRANCE 24 English
At this stage Israel now appears to have extended its military operations and offensive throughout all of the Gaza strips territory with uh bombings of tunnel systems uh in the north of Gaza to uh bombardments of refugee camps in the center and indeed uh to strikes on hunis in the South with heavy combat
Continuing on the ground the Israeli Army stated that it was facing off with Hamas battalions in particular the AL Battalion which is thought to contain around a thousand Fighters now elsewhere Israel has also begun demolitions uh within the areas it controls uh up to around about 1 kilometer inside Gaza now
The aim there is to establish a buffer zone something that it had brought up uh spoken of the idea within recent weeks the idea to prevent any such kind of attack as October 7th ever from happening again in the the postwar era now in the meantime uh Gaza resident are
Also under new evacuation orders those are continuing there have been interruptions to Telecom Services uh this is the gar and health authorities update their uh their death toll throughout uh the war to uh nearly 21,000 people now International pressure is of course continuing to mount there
Is a great deal of concern over the continued bombardments which have now made the War uh the 21st Century’s most destructive even uh Israel Ally the US has expressed deep concern over ongoing bombardments urging Israel to take greater care in how it targets fearing uh for civilians that may be caught in
The crossfire even so there is very uh little end in sight uh the Army chief of staff on Tuesday stating uh that the war was likely to continue for many months yet
Israel appears to have extended its military operations throughout the Gaza Strip’s territory, with “bombings of tunnel systems in the north of Gaza, to bombings of refugee camps in the centre, to strikes on Khan Younis in the south”, said Luke Shrago, FRANCE 24 Journalist, reporting from Tel Aviv. “Elsewhere, Israel has also begun demolitions within the areas it controls, up to around one kilometre around Gaza – the aim there is to establish a buffer zone.”
