Ed Davey: Rishi Sunak should call election in May rather than ‘clinging on to power’

So you talked earlier about um removing the power for theist yeah I think people are feedable waiting for a general election they want change uh and it really shouldn’t be uh in the power of the Prime Minister Rishi sunak to call that he’s Clinging On to power desperate for something to turn up

That’s not right uh so we’re going to propose a new law next week uh that the power to call the general election is taken away from the Prime Minister given back to part uh and that we should have a general election on May the 2nd when it should be

In an interview, Sir Ed Davey said Rishi Sunak should call the election in May rather than “clinging on to power.”

“I think people are fed up with waiting for a general election,” he said. “They want change.”
