I know it is a bad idea to dwell in the past, but I am curious what you think about it. Apparently, he is about to be sold for €25m + €5m to Tottenham with potential try by Bayern to steal the deal in the last minute. Juve just “got rid” of him about 6 months ago for €5,5m. Is it just big clubs being desperate and inflating average players value or was it just a big mistake by Juve?

I get that these things happen in football and a number of factors around a team and player lead to departures and deals but it is also not like we had too many players in the CB position, he would have been a viable rotation option or just having him somewhere on loan with Juve paying attention to his development. Given he is a bit more mature than Huijsen. From what I find online extending Alex Sandro (who barely played this season) must have cost us more than what we got for Dragusin.

I remember watching Dragusin in one single Juve game and I was impressed by his presence and confidence given his age and when I heard about the outgoing transfer I had mixed feelings. Something similar happened with Romero a few years back, at least we got some solid money for him (still, now he’s worth €50m+).

I love how NextGen players are integrated in the squad in the last few years but shouldn’t Juve be paying more attention to the extended squad?

  1. Good for him. I think he will be good. Juve have good cbs right now and I’m not super concerned with the future in that specific position.

  2. I was about to ask this aswell i.e is this a Romero 2.0, but with a homegrown player & alot of potential?

  3. In the past there has been a lack of programming in the transfer market, and players were easily sold if they meant getting to another target (see Caldara given to Milan for Bonucci when he had just joined the squad). In dragusin’s case I am not mad cause it led to us getting Cambiaso but I hope with Giuntoli more attention will be paid to not getting rid of players whose value can 5x with half a season of play time

  4. always thought that we let a good talent go for not so much money, hope that we included some % in the deal for future transfers at least

  5. Sell on clause and the fact we got Cambiaso in that deal makes it not feel that bad. Also we aren’t really struggling with CBS atm
