Nonetheless, they may have a golden opportunity to improve the NRR at the Chepauk in Chennai. According to the Indian Express, all three pitches available for the India vs Zimbabwe match will be batting-friendly.
Reportedly, one of the pitches is made with red soil, while the other two have a majority of black soil. One of the black soil pitches has no green covering. The others have a slight grass cover, a common phenomenon in ICC tournaments to ensure a better balance between the bat and ball.
Nonetheless, according to Express, all three pitches will be conducive to high scores, and the final pick will be made on Tuesday. The T20 World Cup 2026 record also supports this argument.
