WATERLOO, Iowa (KCRG) – The Waterloo community is raising money for a local family that suffered a tragic crash during a family vacation in Kenya.
The DeLeon family is stuck in Kenya after the January 4 road accident killed two of their children and left one in critical condition in the hospital.
Emmanuel, an 8th grader at Hoover Middle School, and his younger brother, Kairo, passed away at the scene.
Njeri, their older sister, is in an Intensive Care Unit in Kenya. She is a junior at West High.
A GoFundMe is fundraising for parents Leah and Christopher to cover funeral and hospital expenses.
