Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has expressed his condolences to the family, friends and residents of Endo Ward, Elgeyo-Marakwet County, following the death of Member of County Assembly Jeremiah Biwott Toryebe.
Toryebe passed away on Friday morning while undergoing treatment at a Nairobi hospital.
In his message, Murkomen described the late MCA as a dedicated and selfless leader who touched many lives through public service.
“Hon. Toryebe was a dedicated leader who touched many lives through selfless service to society, including as a teacher and later as an MCA,” Murkomen said.
He noted that Toryebe would be remembered for his contributions to peace and development, particularly in the Kerio Valley region.
Murkomen said the loss is deeply felt by the family, colleagues and residents of Endo Ward, adding that the late MCA’s service left a lasting impact on the community.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the family, colleagues and all who knew him during this difficult time,” he said.
Treasury Principal Secretary Chris Kiptoo also sent a condolence message, saying he extends his heartfelt sympathies to the family, friends and loved ones of Hon. Jeremiah Toryebe Biwott, as well as the people of Endo Ward and Elgeyo-Marakwet County.
Kiptoo noted that the late MCA served as the Member of County Assembly for Endo Ward from 2022 until his passing, and wished strength and comfort to all those mourning the loss.
