The Business and Intellectual Property Authority (Bipa) has appointed Ainna Kaundu as chief executive, effective January for a period of five years.
Kaundu was the executive of intellectual property services in the authority with 18 years of work experience across the private and public sector.
She holds a master of law in international trade and investment law from the University of Pretoria, an LLB from the University of Namibia and is an admitted legal practitioner.
Board chairperson Immanuel !Hanabeb says Kaundu demonstrated exceptional judgement and professionalism during her tenure as acting chief executive, hence the appointment.
“She guided the authority through a period of transition, ensuring operational stability and culture transformation.
We are confident that under her stewardship, Bipa will be anchored as a leading authority,” says !Hanabeb.
