Ekurhuleni police are investigating a murder case after the body of a woman was found in the boot of a white BMW 3 Series at Bracken Square Shopping Centre in Brackenhurst on January 9.
It is reported that the car is registered to the victim.
According to police, two men reported the incident after being approached earlier in the day by an unknown man who offered them a job and requested a driver with a valid licence.
The men drove with the individual to Randhart, where he got out of the vehicle and instructed them to meet him later at Bracken Square.
When the man failed to arrive at the agreed meeting point, the men became suspicious and decided to inspect the vehicle.

During their inspection, they allegedly noticed traces of blood and hair inside the car. This led them to open the boot, where they discovered the body of a woman.

The men initially sought assistance at Brackendowns SAPS but reportedly did not receive help. They later reported the matter to Katlehong North SAPS, who responded and opened a murder investigation.
Police confirmed that a murder investigation is underway. The suspect is believed to be the victim’s husband; however, this information has not yet been officially confirmed.
The weapon used in the commission of the crime is also still unknown.
The SAPS said no further information can be released at this stage as investigations continue.
