NACADA Board Chair Bishop Stephen Mairori
The National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) has welcomed the reappointment of Bishop Stephen Mairori as its Board Chair by President William Ruto for another three-year term.
In a statement, NACADA described the move as “a powerful demonstration of the President’s firm and unwavering commitment to the renewed, whole-of-government fight against the scourge of alcohol and substance abuse.”
The authority said the reappointment “underscores the national development and security emergency status rightly assigned to this critical war.”
NACADA thanked President Ruto for his confidence in its leadership, pledging “full and unwavering support to Bishop Mairori as he continues to steer NACADA’s strategic direction.”
The authority added, “His proven dedication, visionary leadership, and deep integrity are invaluable assets as we escalate our efforts towards the actualisation of a drug-free nation.”
A formal notice confirming the reappointment reads: “In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 (1) (a) of the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, re-appoint Stephen Mairori (Bishop) to be the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 20th January, 2026.”
NACADA said that under Bishop Mairori’s continued guidance, the authority is “poised to advance to the next level in safeguarding the health, security, and future of all Kenyans.”
