African National Congress (ANC) president Cyril Ramaphosa has slammed AfriForum and Solidarity over alleged attempts to undermine South Africa’s democracy.
The two organisations are accused of lobbying the United States, claiming that race-based laws in South Africa discriminate against white citizens.
Some observers believe that these actions have influenced the Trump administration’s hardline stance toward Pretoria.

Speaking at the ANC’s annual January 8 statement at Moruleng stadium in the North west on Saturday, Ramaphosa condemned the two organisations.
“Their aim is to undermine South Africa’s constitutional democracy, to undermine it non-racialism, non-sexism and our transformation project. They employ multi-faceted falsehoods, including the propagation of blatant falsehoods such as the claim that there is a white genocide in South Africa,” said Ramaphosa.
