A husband has been arrested for the murder of his wife after her body was discovered in the boot of her car at Bracken Square Shopping Centre in Brackenhurst.

Alberton SAPS confirmed that on Friday, a white female reported her friend missing at the Alberton police station. The missing person’s details were officially registered.

Later that day, at around 18:00, Brackendowns SAPS recovered a vehicle at the shopping centre with the woman’s body inside the boot. The car was registered to the missing person.

Following the discovery, Alberton SAPS and CPS Security visited the victim’s residence, where a friend of the husband was found parked at the gate.

Investigators discovered blood stains inside the house and identified additional witnesses who were interviewed.

The husband was traced throughout the night and, when he arrived at the property the following morning, he was immediately arrested for murder.

Police confirmed the victim had suffered multiple stab wounds, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The suspect is expected to appear at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of murder.
