Kenya, 11 January 2026 – President William Ruto on Sunday said his leadership would be judged by the results he delivers, not by political noise, as he defended his development record before a congregation in Nyeri County.
Speaking during a church service at ACK St Paul’s Church Kariki in Chinga Ward, Othaya Constituency, the President said Kenyans would render their verdict at the ballot in 2027.
“I know there will be an examination in 2027. Everyone will be evaluated based on the job they will have done,” President Ruto said.
“We will face those who thrive on insults, falsehood and drama in 2027.”
The Head of State said political propaganda would not weaken his relationship with the people of Nyeri County and the larger Mt Kenya region, noting that the bond was anchored on a shared development agenda.
He said his administration was focused on delivering the programmes agreed upon with voters during the 2022 campaigns, including reforms in education and agriculture, support for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), infrastructure expansion and improved electricity connectivity.
The President also highlighted government initiatives targeting the youth, including the Affordable Housing Programme, digital jobs, overseas employment opportunities and the rollout of the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) programme.
On agriculture, President Ruto said the government had secured enough fertiliser for the next planting season and slashed the cost of sexed semen from KSh 8,000 to KSh 1,400 to support dairy farmers.
He added that Kenya was in the final stages of negotiating a bilateral trade agreement with China for products such as coffee, tea and avocado, while a draft trade deal with the United States was also ready.
