KCB Eye Strong Start as African Club Championship Serves Off in Cairo
Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Volleyball Club will be out to make a strong statement after being drawn as the top-seeded side in Group D of the 2026 African Women’s Volleyball Club Championship set for Cairo, Egypt.
The continental showpiece, running from April 11 to 24 at the Al Ahly Sports Club Complex in Gezira, brings together Africa’s top clubs in what promises to be a fiercely contested tournament.
KCB headline Group D and will face Litto Team Volleyball Club of Cameroon, ARSU Ladies from Seychelles, and Nigeria’s Vipers & Partners in their quest for a place in the knockout stages.

“We are optimistic about our chances. The team has shown great focus and discipline in training, and we are ready to compete at the highest level,” said Bitok.
The Kenyan champions have already held two intensive training sessions in Cairo as they fine-tune preparations and adapt to the conditions ahead of the tournament.
Rising star and outside hitter Marlyne Terry Tata, who was recently named the Most Promising Female Player at the SOYA Awards, believes the early arrival in Egypt has given the team an edge.
“The training sessions here in Cairo have been very helpful. We’ve been able to acclimatize to the weather and get comfortable with the indoor courts, which gives us an advantage going into the tournament,” she said.
KCB head into the championship with pedigree, having previously won the African title twice, and will be aiming to secure a historic third crown. Their mix of experienced players and emerging talent makes them one of the teams to watch.
Kenya will also be well represented at the tournament, with Kenya Pipeline Company and DCI also in the mix, further underlining the country’s growing strength in continental volleyball.
