Ugandan national supplying drugs to M’luru peddlers arrested; 4 kg MDMA seized Mangaluru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) police have arrested a Ugandan national accused of supplying drugs to peddlers operating in Mangaluru and seized 4 kg of MDMA, estimated to be worth Rs 4 crore, near Jigani in Bengaluru.City police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy CH said on Monday that the arrested woman has been identified as Jalia Zalwango from Uganda. She was allegedly supplying drugs to peddlers in Mangaluru in an organised manner. Jalia was produced before a court, which remanded her in judicial custody. “Police will seek her custody for further investigation,” the commissioner said.The arrest followed inputs obtained during earlier drug-related cases. In Dec, Mulki and Surathkal police had arrested several peddlers and seized MDMA from them. Based on information gathered during interrogation, police were able to track down and arrest the Ugandan national.Mulki police had arrested Mohammed Shiyab, 22, Mohammed Naushad, 29, Imran, 27, and Nissar Ahmmed, 36, and seized 524 grams of MDMA. Similarly, Surathkal police arrested Mohammed Iqbal, 30, and Shehraj Sharuk, 25, seizing 200 grams of MDMA from them.
