This week battle events and rights violations were recorded in more than 26 woreda/city administrations across 10 zonal administrations in Amhara Region. These zones included Wag-Hemra, North Wollo, South Wollo, North Shewa, East Gojjam, West Gojjam, Awi, South Gonder, Central Gonder and West Gonder Zones. Developments were also recorded in North Shewa Zone of Oromia Region and in Metekel Zone of Benishangul-Gumuz Region.
Civilian casualties were recorded in 5 woreda/city administrations across 5 zonal administrations in Amhara Region. These included Korem, Sede, Jabi-Tehnan, Jawi, and Debre-Tabor Woredas in North Wollo, East Gojjam, West Gojjam, Awi and South Gonder Zones. Civilian casualties were also recorded in Dangur Woreda of Metekel Zone in Benishangul-Gumuz Region, which implicated Gumuz militants.
This week drone activity was reported across numerous woredas in southwestern Amhara, including the majority of woredas in West Gojjam and North Gojjam Zones, and several woredas in East Gojjam Zone.
Arrests were recorded in Debre-Markos city in East Gojjam Zone in Amhara Region. Abduction incidents were recorded in Alamata city of North Wollo Zone in Amhara Region and in Were-Jarso Woreda of North Shewa Zone in Oromia Region.
