Ashoka Buildcon has secured a $72.36 million power distribution project in Angola, receiving a Letter of Contract Acceptance from the Ministry of Energy and Water of the Republic of Angola. The project falls under the Electricity Sector Improvement and Access Project and adds to the company’s international order book.
Project to upgrade power distribution network in Luanda
The contract involves the design, supply, installation and commissioning of power distribution infrastructure in Luanda. The scope includes rehabilitation and expansion of the existing network to improve electricity access and reliability. The project is scheduled to be executed over a period of 24 months and covers end-to-end implementation, including engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning.
The order strengthens Ashoka Buildcon’s presence in international markets, particularly in the power transmission and distribution segment. The project is part of Angola’s broader efforts to upgrade its electricity infrastructure and expand access. It also reflects a wider trend of Indian infrastructure companies pursuing overseas opportunities in energy projects, supported by rising demand for power network development.
