President Donald Trump launch a fresh series of verbal attacks against Rep. Ilhan Omar, a Democrat who represents Minnesota, calling her a “a phony” and claiming she married her brother.
He ranted about her, as well Somalia and Somali immigrants, during an event on Friday evening. He described Somalia, which is where Omar is from, saying it’s a “filthy dirty” country that lacks order and is riddled with crime.
“All they do is run around shooting each other. It’s filthy dirty, disgusting dirty. It’s a horrible place. They come here — and Ilhan Omar — you ever hear of her? She heads it,” Trump said during a speech at the Villages Charter School in Florida.”And think of it. They have nothing but crime, poverty, pollution. Everything is horrible over there. Nothing good. They say it’s the worst country anywhere in the world. We got some beauties out there, but it’s the worst. And then she comes here and she tells us how to run the United States of America,” he added.
Trump then micked her before saying she should “get the hell out” of the U.S.
“She says, ‘The Constitution gives me certain rights. It gives me certain rights and I demand that I be given these rights.’ Get the hell out,” he said. “What a phony!”FULL SPEECH:
Trump went on to say Omar “married her brother” and called her despicable.
And then she married her brother to come in,” Trump said.“I believe she married her brother, which is totally illegal,” he added. “Although, it’s a lovely couple, actually, but it’s a little bit on the illegal side. ‘Darling. I love you very much. Goodnight, brother. Let’s go to bed.'”
Trump also said Omar might be under federal investigation, but added that he has “nothing to do with it.”
“I would imagine they’re looking at her,” he said. “Isn’t she despicable? We ought to get those people the hell out of our country.”
In May 2025, Omar claimed that she and her husband, Tim Mynett, had assets worth between $6 million and $30 million. The Wall Street Journal recently reported an amended filing that puts the couple’s wealth between $18,004 and $95,000.
Omar claimed the initial filing contained accounting errors.
When a reporter later asked Omar if she would “like to explain,” the congresswoman lashed out.
“I think you’re stupid for asking me anything,” Omar said to the reporter. “I don’t want to tell you jack s**t. How about that? Have a good day.”
