The fishmonger displaying the counterfeit notes
A fishmonger has threatened to invoke curses on two Ghanaian men and a White man after they allegedly used counterfeit US dollar notes to purchase fish worth GH¢1,600.
In a viral video dated January 12, 2026, the fishmonger said the three men visited her stall and bought all the fish on her table, valued at GH¢1,600.
She explained that although she requested payment in Ghana cedis, the men insisted she accept the foreign currency they offered.

According to her, the group made up of two Ghanaians and a foreigner paid with US dollar notes, which she later accepted.
She indicated that she travelled to Tema Community one to exchange the dollars into cedis, only to be told by forex dealers that the notes were counterfeit.
The fishmonger expressed anger and distress over the incident and warned that she would invoke traditional curses if the perpetrators failed to return her money.
