There were scenes of celebration in Soweto as learners from Diepsloot Secondary School Class of 2025 received their exam results.
The school recorded its highest pass rate since its was founded in 2012, with a 100 percent pass rate.
Speaking to EWN, some learners say they achieved more then they expected, especially coming from an area where they have many challenges.
This learner had high praise for the teachers.
“The teachers at DS3 are very very good at their job, but they also learned a skill to connect with learners. And to guide them through the emotional journey, because as much as results matter, your mental health also does matter.”
Another pupil also expressed gratitude to his teachers.
“I like to say thank you very much to my teachers. I am very grateful and short of words. My message to the Grade 12 students of 2026 is to just work hard, it is possible.”
