TWO manne were shot dead during the early hours of Monday morning in Parkwood in what is suspected to be a gang-related hit.
According to police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg, the shooting took place in Willow Walk around 5.15am when the two men, aged 26 and 35, known as Tolla and Boy, were approached by an unknown gunman and shot dead.
Twigg reported: “Grassy Park police responded to a complaint of a shooting on Monday morning, 18 May 2026, at about 5.15am, in Willow Walk, Parkwood, and upon arrival on the scene, they found two males, 26 and 35, who sustained gunshot wounds to their bodies.
“Both victims were declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel. According to reports, the victims were approached by an unknown suspect who shot them before fleeing the scene.
“The motive for the attack is believed to be gang-related.
“Grassy Park detectives are investigating two counts of murder.”
Parkwood community activist, Paul Philips, said that the two victims were known gang members.
Philips explained: “From the information gathered, the shooting is gang-related; both the deceased were actively involved in gangsterism.
“It seems like it was an intentional firing on them with the intent to kill them; they were not hit in a crossfire.
“Most of the gang fighting nowadays is about turf, drugs, and gang rivalry. About three gang leaders have been taken out in the community in a short space of time, so there is also retaliation and revenge taking place.”
