A MAMELODI East mum who unexpectedly gave birth to triplets is pleading for help to support her six kids.
Koketso Moeka (36) from Extension 5 gave birth to two boys and a girl at Mamelodi Regional Hospital on 23 April 2026.
She said she wasn’t financially prepared to have three babies.
“I didn’t expect God to bless me with triplets in such an economy and time. I wasn’t and I’m not ready to raise three babies. I didn’t believe it after knowing I have triplets. It’s heavy on me,” she said.
She only discovered she was having triplets on the operating table.
“I wasn’t expecting triplets. I was expecting one baby with a possibility of two babies because there were two placentas. Only one baby was visible on scan,” she said.
She said the third baby was a miracle.
“I only knew about triplets on the operating table. I was shocked. So much responsibility at the same time. It’s a huge present. A huge gift from God. I don’t need more kids anymore,” she said.
The situation caused high blood pressure, but she’s grateful for the psychological support she got from the hospital.
She said that welcoming the triplets comes with huge responsibility, and it’s hard because neither she nor the dad of her kids are working.
She has three other kids – a girl aged seven, a 12-year-old girl, and a son (19).

Koketso said she only has a matric certificate and is willing to work as a general worker.
The dad of her kids is stressed because he relies on part-time jobs to support the kids, which isn’t enough. He said he hasn’t been getting part-time jobs since 2025.
Koketso is pleading for any kind of help whether it’s a job, food, blankets or clothes for her kids.
