THREE armed suspected skelms were vasgevat after they were busted allegedly trying to steal a school bus.
Friday night’s incident went from a routine security check at the Bellville High School to a full-blown rescue mission before the suspected kardiewe were taken down.
According to SJC Group, a Brackenfell-based private security company, one of their guards was bound and held at gunpoint as the manne apparently went to work attempting to steal the school bus. But when his colleagues arrived on site, dinge escalated quickly.
A Facebook post by SJC read: “What began as a routine site inspection quickly turned into a high-risk operation when an SJC Armed Response officer discovered criminals actively attempting to steal one of Bellville High School’s minibuses.
“As the suspects realised they had been caught, they fled the scene on foot.”
Upon securing the premises, security personnel found one of the manskappe vasgebind in the toilets, being held at gunpoint.
But the well-trained team was able to rescue their colleague without suffering any injuries.
SJC added: “The on-duty SJC Security Officer was found held at gunpoint, tied up and locked inside a security restroom.
“Our officer was safely rescued and protected from further harm.”
With the suspects making a run for it, the team called in backup to chase after the suspects.
When the manne jumped into a waiting taxi, they thought they were home free. But the security team hadn’t thrown in the towel yet.
SJC added: “Additional SJC Armed Response units immediately responded, pursuing the suspects before they climbed into a waiting minibus taxi believed to have been used during the commission of the crime. The taxi was intercepted and blocked, resulting in the arrest of three suspects.
“Through the swift and coordinated actions of our Armed Response teams, both Bellville High School minibuses were saved from being stolen, and the scene was handed over to SAPS for further investigation.”
Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk confirmed the incident.
He said: “This office can confirm that three suspects aged 24, 29 and 34 were arrested on 3 July for theft of motor vehicle at the premises of a high school in De La Haye road in Bellville.”
The trio were set to appear at the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 6 July 2026, for the mentioned charges.
