ANGOLA – The 2026 northeast Indiana prep girls golf season kicked off Monday evening at Glendarin Hills Golf Club with the Angola Invitational.
DeKalb, the best team in the area with five quality players returning from a state-qualifying team a year ago, won the nine-hole event with a team score of 170.
The Barons had all their girls finish in the top seven, a good start to the new season.
The Barons’ Paige Williams was medalist with a 39. Lily Oburn of East Noble was runner-up with a 41, and DeKalb’s Jadan Tompkins was third with a 43.
Barons Grace Pfister, Ellington Sparkman and Mollee Sonnenberg and Hornet Bri Metcalf tied for fourth with 44s.
