Afro-Arab Drive Green has reached a new milestone in its youth empowerment initiative with the arrival of an additional 50 electric vehicles (EVs), bringing its fleet to 100 out of the 1,000 vehicles planned under the programme.

The Changan E-Star was officially launched last Friday, marking another step in the initiative aimed at creating opportunities for young people to own vehicles, become professional drivers and build sustainable businesses.

The initiative is being led by Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu, who has pledged to create more than 2,000 jobs for young people through the programme.

Ambassador Salamu said the initiative would be implemented gradually, emphasising that the focus remained on achieving the target of 1,000 EVs

“Rome was not built in a day,” he said, stressing the need for patience as the programme expands.

Another fleet of electric vehicles is expected to arrive soon as Afro-Arab Drive Green continues to scale up the initiative and create opportunities for young entrepreneurs.

The programme is designed to enable young people to become vehicle owners, drivers and business operators, while promoting the adoption of electric mobility.

With 100 vehicles now in the fleet, the initiative has 900 more EVs to acquire to reach its 1,000-vehicle target.
