Greece is set to suffer a new round of rainstorms and gale-force winds in coming days, paradoxically accompanied by unseasonably high temperatures of up to 20 degrees Celsius, forecasts said Friday.

Following a relatively warm weekend, the wet, windy weather is expected mostly on Monday and Tuesday. This will mainly be felt in western Greece, eastern Macvedonia and Thrace, the eastern Aegean Sea, the Dodecanese and Crete. Gale-force south winds will keep the temperature high, while also blanketing southwestern Greece in red dust from northern Africa.

Heavy rainstorms on Wednesday caused disruptions in much of Greece, and left two people dead on the mainland.
