Namibia has been placed in Group A for the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier along with Papua New Guinea, Bangladesh, Ireland and the United States of America. Namibia are going into the tournament with only one change in their squad, that is Saima Tuhadeleni, who has replaced Jurriene Diergaardt.

Namibia will be on their path to rework their combinations, considering their poor recent run in international cricket. Wilka Mwatile will be key to their plans as she can keep the scoreboard ticking relatively consistently. Naomi Benjamin is also crucial to their bowling unit with her ability to take wickets at a good economy. Suné Wittmann will have a huge role to play as a captain to pick the right squad and combinations to give it their best shot in the Global Qualifiers.

In the 2025 Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy, Namibia finished 7th out of the 8 teams that participated in the tournament. They lost 5 games on the trot, but some games out of those were really close encounters. In the fixture against Papua New Guinea, Namibia produced an outstanding bowling performance led by the captain and Visser to bowl out Papua New Guinea for 94.

In the second innings, Namibia collapsed early by losing 4 wickets in 7 overs. The skipper and Yasmeen Khan tried to steady the ship by controlling the innings but eventually fell prey to Toua and an untimely runout. The exceptional bowling spell from Siaka, picking up 3 wickets for 15 runs, led to Namibia falling short of the target by just one run. Their only victory in the tournament came against Uganda by 12 runs.
