
Police are investigating an incident where a man was found dead in his car in the Mirema area, Kasarani, Nairobi.
The family of the deceased, identified as Kevin Onoka, said he arrived home on Sunday night and told them he was resting in the car.
He reportedly locked the car and went to sleep.
On Monday morning, he was found unresponsive in the vehicle, police said.
Officers who were called to the scene said his body was found on the driver’s seat with no visible injuries.
Police had to break into the car to reach him and suspect suffocation may have occurred.
The body was moved to a mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.
13-year-old girl drowns in Nyando River
A 13-year-old girl drowned in the Nyando River in Geyo village, Chemelil, Kisumu County, on Monday evening.
Family members said the girl went to the river with others to swim. The river, which drains into Lake Victoria, was reported to be swollen at the time.
According to the family and police, an alarm was raised, and the girl’s body was later retrieved from the water. It was taken to a local mortuary pending further procedures.
Decomposed body found in Mau Narok
Police discovered the decomposed body of a man in his house in Mau Narok, Nakuru County.
The man, identified as Joseph Kimani, 32, had been missing since December 25, 2025.
Neighbours alerted police after noticing a foul smell coming from the house.
Officers said they broke into the house and found the body hanging on a truss with a rope around the neck.
The motive for the death is under investigation.
The body was moved to a mortuary pending an autopsy, police said on Tuesday.
