Despite the controversy surrounding their AFCON 2025 trophy, Senegal is focusing on its preparations for the 2026 World Cup. During the next FIFA Day, the Lions will face Peru (28 March, at the Stade de France) and Gambia (31 March, in Diamniadio). For these two friendly matches, Pape Thiaw has summoned 28 players. Sadio Mané, currently injured, is absent. Mamadou Diakhon (20 years old left winger, Club Brugge) and Nobel Mendy (21 years old defender, Rayo Vallecano) are called for the first time.
Mamadou Diakhon is also included in the list of the France Espoirs team for the March rally.
