Bon Jovi is one of the world’s most influential rock bands, giving us iconic anthems such as ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’, ‘It’s My Life’ and ‘Bed of Roses’.
The renowned American rock band is a worldwide phenomenon, and even here in South Africa, people have been enjoying their music for years.
Despite their global audience, the last thing you’d probably expect to hear is what Bon Jovi would sound like with a Zulu twist – that is, until Sne Dlala.

In a recent social media video, South African musician, actor and presenter Sne Dlala gave the world a glimpse of what Bon Jovi might sound like if they were “Zulufied”.
In the video, Dlala takes the iconic song ‘It’s My Life’ and fuses it with traditional-sounding Zulu backing vocals and rhythms.
The result? A truly South African take on one of the world’s biggest songs.
“If Bon Jovi was Zulufied,” Dlala wrote on the video, which has garnered over 100,000 views.

Bon Jovi isn’t the only band or artist to have been Zulufied by the award-winning actor, comic and musician.
Artists such as Mariah Carey, Kelly Rowland, Adele, Alicia Keys, Céline Dion and Britney Spears have all been given an African twist by Dlala.

Dlala is no stranger to music and the arts.
His social media platforms are filled with videos of him singing, producing music and sharing hilarious comedy skits.
The South African artist has also appeared in many local theatre productions and comedy shows, as well as films, TV shows and commercials.
