Triumphant Team Kenya from the just concluded 46th World Cross Country Championship returned home on Tuesday night and early Wednesday.

The first batch, which arrived on Tuesday night, was led by the 10km gold medallist Agnes Jebet Ng’etich, who touched down shortly after 9pm, while the remaining two groups jet back early Wednesday.

The team was received by the NOCK 1st Deputy President, Barnaba Korir.

Kenya retained the overall title in the World Cross Country Championship held last Saturday in the USA for a third edition in a row, amassing 9 medals: three gold, four silver and two bronze.

Agnes Jebet Ngétich won her first gold and third consecutive senior women’s team title, while Frankline Kibet bagged gold in the 8 km under-20 category.

“This means a lot to me; it’s just the opening of the season. Cross-country nimejaribu mara tatu; hii itabaki in my history forever.” said Agnes

Emmanuel Kiprono won silver in the under 20, while Alan Alamisi bagged bronze in the same race, as Daniel Ebenyo added another bronze in the 10km senior men.
