Rabat – Morocco and Tanzania are meeting today in an AFCON Round of 16 match that fans across the continent are eagerly awaiting.

The Atlas Lions will face Tanzania at 5 p.m. Moroccan time in a high-stakes clash at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat

The Moroccan national team has historically dominated matches against Tanzania, but AFCON remains an unpredictable tournament.

In all competitions, Morocco and Tanzania have met eight times, with the Atlas Lions winning seven of those encounters. Tanzania’s sole victory came in a 3-1 World Cup qualifier.

Morocco is looking forward to a decisive match, where head coach Walid Regragui will face a tough test. In a press conference yesterday, Regragui described this stage of the competition as “real.”

“We are entering a new competition now. There is no room for choice anymore,” he said, acknowledging the challenge ahead.

“We must approach it with humility and respect,” he added, describing Tanzania as a serious threat.

“This is the AFCON of humility. We have not won this competition for 50 years. There are no easy teams, especially in a knockout match,” Regragui emphasized.

Can’t watch the game from the stadium? No problem.

A variety of channels will broadcast the match, including Morocco’s Arriyadia.

Other international channels airing the game include Fanatiz USA, beIN Sports, fuboTV, and beIN Sports Connect, as well as SuperSport PSL, SABC Plus, and beIN Sports MAX 1 Arabia. Do you think Morocco’s Atlas Lions are up to the challenge? Let’s find out at 5 p.m. Moroccan time.
