Nelson Mandela Bay Fire Fighters responded to a blaze at the Moffet Retail Park on Thursday morning, after a fire broke out in the trolley storage area behind the building.
The Metro, which brought the fire under control in less than an hour, says it did not affect the building, except for smoke which made its way through extractor fans.
Four trucks were deployed to manage the blaze, with the affected area being monitored.
Nearby communities are advised to remain alert and report any signs of flare-ups, smoke, or fire activity immediately.
Nobody was injured in the blaze, and the cause is unknown at this stage.
