Rabat – Morocco is set to host a major week of golf as the International Series Morocco returns to Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat from June 11-14.
The event, played on the famous Red Course, brings together a strong field from the Asian Tour, including more than 20 players linked to LIV Golf.
The tournament also carries extra importance because the International Series offers players a direct pathway toward the LIV Golf League.
Major champions in the field
Two major champions will be among the biggest names in Rabat. Sergio Garcia, the 2017 Masters champion, and Bubba Watson, a two-time Masters winner, are both part of the field.
Their presence gives the tournament a higher profile and shows the growing place of Morocco on the international golf calendar.
Defending champion Scott Vincent will also return to Royal Golf Dar Es Salam after winning the title last year.
He will be joined by several strong names, including Abraham Ancer, Branden Grace, Anirban Lahiri, Ben Campbell, Elvis Smylie, Cameron Tringale, and Jazz Janewattananond.
The event has become one of the important stops in the International Series. It gives Asian Tour players a chance to compete against experienced LIV Golf names, while also giving LIV players more competitive action outside their regular schedule.
For many players, the tournament is not only about winning the title. It is also about ranking points, momentum, and the chance to move closer to a future place in LIV Golf.
Royal Golf Dar Es Salam takes the spotlight
For Morocco, the tournament is another chance to show its ability to host major sporting events.
Royal Golf Dar Es Salam is one of the country’s most respected golf venues and has hosted several high-level tournaments over the years.
Its Red Course is known for its demanding layout, tree-lined fairways, and strong test of accuracy.
That makes it a good stage for a field that includes experienced international players and rising names.
Moroccan golfer Ayoub Lguirati is expected to lead the local challenge. Playing at home, he will have the chance to test himself against some of the biggest names in the field and represent Moroccan golf in front of local fans.
For Moroccan golf, this is a valuable opportunity. A strong performance from a local player would give the tournament extra meaning and help raise more attention around the sport in the country.
The tournament also arrives at a time when the International Series continues to grow. The 2026 calendar includes several stops around the world, and Morocco remains one of its key destinations.
With Garcia, Watson, Vincent, Ancer, and several LIV-linked players in the field, this year’s edition is expected to attract more attention than usual.
