Kasseh-Ada, Jan. 04, GNA – Naana Adiki Manyeyo Adi I, President of the Ada Queen Mothers Consortium, has cautioned young girls to desist from the use and abuse of hard and illicit drugs, warning that such practices pose serious risks to their health, education, and future prospects.

The Adibiawe Clan Queen urged the girls to take their education seriously and remain focused on their long-term goals, stressing that discipline, self-control, and sound decision-making were critical to personal development and national progress.

She gave the advice when she served as guest speaker at the Naana Kakie Foundation Girls’ Netball Empowerment Competition and HIV/AIDS Awareness Programme held at Kasseh in the Ada East District.

Naana Adiki Manyeyo Adi I expressed concern about the growing incidence of substance abuse among young girls, particularly the use of shisha, cigarettes, marijuana, and other illicit drugs, noting that such habits could derail their ambitions and expose them to long-term health complications.

She emphasised that girls were an integral part of the nation’s future and encouraged them to take responsibility for shaping their lives positively from an early age.

The Queen further called on traditional authorities, parents, guardians, teachers, and society at large to collaborate to protect, guide, and nurture the girl-child for the overall development of the community.

Naana Adiki Manyeyo Adi I, who is also the Founder of the AACOMAID Foundation, an organisation dedicated to adolescent hygiene education, donated ten boxes of sanitary pads to support the programme. The items were distributed to all participating players.

The Naana Kakie Foundation organised the competition to empower girls in the Ada East and Ada West Districts, educate them on HIV and AIDS prevention, and identify young leaders to serve as peer educators in their communities.
