Noussair Mazraoui is currently playing for Morocco in the African Cup of Nations, following him being selected in the side to feature at AFCON.
The defender, who also plays for Manchester United in club football, has featured for his national team since 2018 with him making 38 appearances in his spell, and scoring twice.
Furthermore, he has featured in each of Morocco’s four games so far in the tournament as the side aim to follow in the footsteps of 2023 champions Ivory Coast.
Meanwhile, in one of these games, against Zambia, the defender was praised by the Moroccan media for his defensive display in the 3-0 victory for the side.
Furthermore, in another of these games, against Tanzania which was played today, the defender started the game and played for 76 minutes before being taken off.
In these 76 minutes, the 28-year-old made two tackles, one clearance, and a recovery.
Meanwhile, from an attacking perspective, Noussair Mazraoui had a successful dribble, and made 17 passes into the final third helping to push the side further up the field.
Now, the Moroccan media have been reacting to the performance, as they shine their spotlight on both Mazraoui and the Morocco team.
Firstly, Al Mountakhab stated that Morocco “felt a great deal of difficulty in getting rid of the Tanzanian team.”
Meanwhile, Le Matin stated that the win was “hard fought.”
As well as this, Morocco World News stated that Mazraoui was “solid” as a part of a defensive, clean sheet display.
With the media reacting to the defender’s and team’s performance with admiration about its hard-fought nature, attention could turn towards the team’s quarter finals against Cameroon.
Furthermore, in this quarter-final, Noussair Mazraoui could face fellow Manchester United player Bryan Mbeumo with Mbeumo representing Cameroon at the tournament currently.
