Kenya’s tea export earnings experienced a significant decline during the 2024/2025 financial year, dropping by 13.41 per cent .
According to data from the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, revenue fell to Sh176.76 billion from a peak of Sh204.14 billion in the previous 2023/2024 period.
Despite this recent downturn, the long-term trend shows growth compared to the 2018/2019 low of Sh121.2 billion.
The current figures remain higher than earnings recorded between 2017 and 2022.
This drop represents the first major revenue dip for the sector after three consecutive years of steady financial increases.
