Mama Ida Odinga became the centre of celebration on Wednesday as ODM and UDA leaders visited her at their Karen residence to mark what would have been Raila Odinga\u2019s 81st birthday.<\/p>\n

The leaders led by the ODM SG also gifted Mama Ida flowers.<\/p>\n

The event, held posthumously, saw party members pay tribute to the late ODM founding leader\u2019s legacy.<\/p>\n

The gathering brought together a section of top ODM party leaders and those from UDA who recalled Raila\u2019s contributions to democracy, national unity, and the growth of the ODM.<\/p>\n

In her address, Ida called on the leadership of the ODM to
\nembrace dialogue as the only way to solve challenges facing the party.<\/p>\n

“Raila
\n run ODM on the principle of constant consultation and always referring
\nto the people. It is my wish that we can preserve the party in his
\nhonour as a matter of service to our country,” she said.<\/p>\n

The wrangles have rocked the party\u00a0barely three months after the passing of ODM leader Raila.<\/p>\n

Ida
\n said that in the time when the party is undergoing political turmoil,
\nRaila would have called for dialogue to ensure existing issues are
\naddressed amicably.<\/p>\n
