Firefighters are still battling a devastating fire in Mossel Bay that has destroyed at least 10 homes overnight.<\/p>\n
The blaze has spread to Aalwyndal and its surrounds, where firefighters are attending to flare-ups.<\/p>\n
The fire started in a farming area near Vakansieplaas, where more than 10 homes were reportedly gutted by the fire.<\/p>\n
The Mossel Bay Municipality said windy conditions are making it difficult for firefighters to control the fire in Aalwynda.l<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, a minor girl was injured as a result of the fire in Vakansieplaas, where residents were evacuated before the fire gutted homes, damaging vehicles and other infrastructure.<\/p>\n
Three firefighters were injured while battling the blaze, while another was admitted to hospital for smoke inhalation.<\/p>\n
Aerial resources have since been deployed, and at present, no structures are in danger of being damaged by the fire.<\/p>\n
