{"id":11079,"date":"2026-01-08T11:29:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-08T11:29:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/11079\/"},"modified":"2026-01-08T11:29:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-08T11:29:10","slug":"ethiopian-satellites-drive-socio-economic-gains-as-third-launch-planned-for-2026-ena-english","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/11079\/","title":{"rendered":"Ethiopian Satellites Drive Socio-Economic Gains as Third Launch Planned for 2026 &#8211; ENA English"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align:justify; margin-bottom:11px\">Addis Ababa, January 8, 2026 (ENA)\u2014The Ethiopian Space Science and Geospatial Institute (SSGI) has announced that satellite data generated by Ethiopia\u2019s space missions has delivered significant socio-economic benefits across the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify; margin-bottom:11px\">According to the Institute, preparations are underway to launch Ethiopia\u2019s third Earth observation satellite, ET-RSS2, in December 2026. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify; margin-bottom:11px\">The new satellite is expected to offer enhanced image quality and a longer operational lifespan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify; margin-bottom:11px\">Ethiopia has previously launched two Earth observation satellites\u2014ET-RSS1 and ET-SMART-RSS.
