Like the Bible said, ‘we need to become like Christ’. “Every Sunday, the whole family was at church. The last Sunday he served communion, it was almost like it was our last supper with him.

“My father really played a big role in the community; he was humble, selfless and would do anything for his kids.

“He was even a better grandfather as he never missed his grandchildren’s extra-mural activities.

“He made sure you felt loved. Even the gangsters had respect for him.”

Ramona Biggs, who is in charge of the administration of the Ministry and has known the family for over 35 years, said Fouten was like a father to her.

She explains: “He stood in the gap when I lost my parents and grandparents. I was blessed to have Pastor walk me down the aisle last December at our wedding. We were the last wedding that Pastor officiated.”

Manenberg Neighbourhood Watch coordinator Keegan Hendricks added: “He did a great job in Manenberg and made a huge impact.”

THE community of Manenberg is mourning the loss of a spiritual giant, after beloved pastor Winston Fouten passed…

[52
2829,64974,4365,64971,3494,64963,64965,64970,64969,3543,64972,64966,27375,64973,11996,64964,64967,64968,131,64975,64962
post-117463","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-south-africa","tag-christmas","tag-cpt-bennett","tag-daily-voice","tag-esau","tag-groote-schuur-hospital","tag-keegan-hendricks","tag-lily-ministries","tag-little-lilies","tag-little-lilies-educare","tag-manenberg","tag-manenberg-neighbourhood-watch","tag-margaret","tag-monday","tag-nhw","tag-pastor","tag-ramona-biggs","tag-sabie","tag-scheidt-road","tag-south-africa","tag-the-reverend","tag-winston-fouten
["GET
