The situation is fully<br \/>\nunder control, and the public may safely go on with their normal activities,\u201d<br \/>\nthe agency announced on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">On Wednesday, KWS had confirmed that the cats were approximately<br \/>\n8.3 kilometres from the park, giving precise coordinates as 37 M 261961 UTM 9834651, and assured<br \/>\nthat teams were actively managing the situation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The agency at the time reassured the public of safety, noting that<br \/>\nit was monitoring the situation with rangers and veterinary teams already<br \/>\ndeployed to recapture and relocate the lionesses.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Members of the public were urged to remain cautious, keep children<br \/>\nindoors, and report any sightings through the toll-free number 0800 597 000 or WhatsApp 0726 610 509.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">KWS now thanks residents for their calmness, cooperation, and<br \/>\ntimely reporting, saying it played a key role in ensuring both human and<br \/>\nwildlife safety.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWe thank members of the public for their calmness, cooperation,<br \/>\nand timely reporting, which greatly supported the safe resolution of this<br \/>\nincident and ensured the protection of both people and wildlife,\u201d KWS added,<br \/>\nemphasizing that the outcome highlights that \u201cconservation is a shared<br \/>\nresponsibility.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"By Joseph Muia Published on: January 08, 2026 04:14 (EAT) Lionesses roaming inside the Nairobi National Park.
