[Boniface Okendo, Standard]&#13;<\/p>\n<p class=\"card-text\">More than 996,000 candidates who sat the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations will receive their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standardmedia.co.ke\/national\/article\/2001534896\/knec-enforces-strict-rules-as-kcse-exam-marking-begins\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">results on Friday<\/a>, January 9,\u00a0 ending days of anxiety over what many described as an unusual delay.&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"card-text\">The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) completed marking mid December 2025, clearing the way for results from one of the final cohorts under the 8-4-4 system to be released as the country shifts to the Competency-Based Education framework.&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"card-text\">KNEC Chief Executive Officer David Njengere dismissed concerns about the timing, saying the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standardmedia.co.ke\/health\/health-science\/article\/2001509661\/giving-students-second-chance-at-kcse-exam-an-excellent-idea\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">release follows the usual calendar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"card-text\">\u201cLast year we released the results on January 9, 2025, so we are still within the timeline.
