Health Principal Secretary Dr Ouma Oluga led his
\ncounterparts in paying a courtesy call on ODM leader and Siaya Senator Dr Oburu
\nOdinga in a show of solidarity with the Odinga family following recent
\nbereavements.<\/p>\n

The meeting was convened to console with the family following
\nthe demise of Raila Amolo Odinga and Beryl Odinga.<\/p>\n

The delegation of PSs also joined the family in marking what
\nwould have been Baba\u2019s 81st birthday, reflecting on his life and contribution
\nto Kenya\u2019s political history.<\/p>\n

In a statement, the delegation said the visit was meant to \u201cexpress solidarity with the Odinga family during this difficult moment,\u201d\u00a0and to stand with them as they commemorated
\nthe late statesman\u2019s legacy.<\/p>\n

Oburu welcomed the delegation and thanked the Principal
\nSecretaries for what he described as a thoughtful and respectful gesture.<\/p>\n

He used the occasion to offer guidance to the senior
\ngovernment officials, urging them to remain focused on their responsibilities
\nin public service.<\/p>\n

\u201cDr Oburu Odinga thanked the Principal Secretaries for the
\ngesture and offered counsel on the importance of diligence, performance, and
\ndelivery of results in the execution of their respective mandates,\u201d the
\nstatement said.<\/p>\n

He reminded the officials of the expectations placed on them
\nas accounting and policy leaders within government, stressing that effective
\nservice delivery and accountability were essential to meeting the needs of
\nKenyans.<\/p>\n

The visit brought together Principal Secretaries drawn from a
\nwide range of government departments, underscoring the cross-sectoral nature of
\nthe delegation.<\/p>\n

Those present included Oluga, Judy Pareno, Principal
\nSecretary for Justice, Human Rights and Constitutional Affairs, and Stephen
\nIsaboke, EBS, Principal Secretary for Broadcasting and Telecommunications.<\/p>\n

Others in attendance were Carren Agengo, Principal Secretary
\nfor Children Services; Dr Caroline Karugu, Principal Secretary for East African
\nCommunity Affairs; Prof Shaukat Abdulrazak, Principal Secretary for Science,
\nResearch and Innovation; and Cyrell Odede, Principal Secretary for Public
\nInvestment.<\/p>\n

The delegation also included Aden Millah, Principal
\nSecretary for Maritime Affairs; Michael Lenasalon, Principal Secretary for
\nDevolution; Dr Bonface Makokha, Principal Secretary for Economic Planning; and
\nRegina Ombam, Principal Secretary for Trade.<\/p>\n

The courtesy call came against the backdrop of national
\nreflection on the life and legacy of Raila, whose influence in Kenya\u2019s politics
\nspanned decades and whose role in democratic reforms remains widely
\nacknowledged.<\/p>\n

The engagement was described as both a moment of condolence
\nand reflection, as well as an opportunity for senior public servants to receive
\ncounsel from a veteran political leader on leadership, service and
\nresponsibility in government.<\/p>\n

Raila died on October 15, 2025, at the age of 80, during a
\ntrip to India for medical treatment.<\/p>\n

The former prime minister suffered a heart attack, the
