Despite the tight timelines, the school<br \/>\nmanagement says it is optimistic that the remaining work will be completed by<br \/>\nnext week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cIn the making of the<br \/>\nnew system, it is more practical-oriented, so there are things we had to put in<br \/>\nplace \u2014 facelifts in the dorms, more science labs and computer labs,\u201d said Kebirigo<br \/>\nBoys Deputy Principal James Ogari.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWe are privileged to have a number of our teachers as TOTs<br \/>\nand they spare time to take others through. With a staff of around 175<br \/>\nteachers, almost all of them have been exposed to CBE.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In neighbouring Kisii County, at Kereri Girls High School<br \/>\nand Kisii High School, classrooms are all set for the new learners.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">At Cardinal Otunga High School, a school widely recognised<br \/>\nas a sporting hub, all is set for the arts and sports pathway.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWe are going to partner closely with our national<br \/>\npolytechnics, where we have adequate personnel, so that they can assist our<br \/>\nlearners who want to venture into technical areas,\u201d said Cardinal Otunga Principal<br \/>\nEzekiel Okeyo.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Along the Kisii\u2013Transmara border, the management of Riokindo<br \/>\nBoys High School was in a last-minute meeting to plan for the first CBE intake.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWe are hoping that the ministry will distribute books on<br \/>\ntime,\u201d Riokindo Boys Chief Principal Gerald Orina noted.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Kwale Girls in the coastal region and Sosit Girls in Kericho<br \/>\nCounty have also expressed their readiness three days to reporting day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Speaking to Citizen TV on the phone, Education Cabinet Secretary<br \/>\nMigos Ogamba said the government has already trained teachers for the new<br \/>\nlearning areas, including marine, fisheries and aviation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cPreparations have been going on. For instance, we know that<br \/>\nwe are going to graduate these learners to universities in the next three<br \/>\nyears, so we have started working with universities in advance.
