{"id":125631,"date":"2026-03-10T05:11:10","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T05:11:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/125631\/"},"modified":"2026-03-10T05:11:10","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T05:11:10","slug":"ntsa-rolls-out-instant-traffic-fines-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/125631\/","title":{"rendered":"NTSA rolls out instant traffic fines system"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/c51d165f-b42d-4200-a3f7-28d59b8076f2.png\" class=\"ui-draggable ui-draggable-handle\" style=\"max-width: 100%; width: 100%;\"\/>Traffic police at work \/FILE<\/p>\n<p>The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has&#13;<br \/>\nannounced that the Instant Fines Traffic Management System is now live, marking&#13;<br \/>\na significant shift in how traffic violations are enforced.<\/p>\n<p>In a notice issued Monday, the authority said the system&#13;<br \/>\nwill automatically issue traffic violation notifications via SMS to motorists&#13;<br \/>\nfound to have breached road regulations.<\/p>\n<p>The notifications will inform offenders of the nature of the&#13;<br \/>\noffence and the fine payable.<\/p>\n<p>NTSA said the new system is designed to improve&#13;<br \/>\ntransparency and efficiency in traffic enforcement by eliminating manual&#13;<br \/>\nprocesses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe system will automatically issue traffic violation&#13;<br \/>\nnotifications via SMS to motorists where applicable,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p>According to the authority, the process is fully automated&#13;<br \/>\nand operates without human intervention, ensuring greater transparency,&#13;<br \/>\nefficiency and accountability in traffic enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>Motorists who receive the notifications will be required to&#13;<br \/>\nsettle the fines within seven days.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll fines issued through the system can be paid through the&#13;<br \/>\nbranch network of KCB Group within 7 days,\u201d the authority said.<\/p>\n<p>NTSA further warned that failure to settle the fine within&#13;<br \/>\nthe stipulated period will attract additional penalties.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFailure to settle the fine due within the seven-day period&#13;<br \/>\nwill result in the amount due earning interest.
