Production from the field was stopped in 2015.

The construction of a new production unit with a capacity of 25,000 barrels per day was launched in May 2024. Start-up of this new facility occurred on February 28, 2026, less than two years after the project was launched.

‘This restart illustrates our long-term commitment in Libya, as we celebrate TotalEnergies’ 70th anniversary in the country this year,’ said Julien Pouget, Middle East and North Africa Director for TotalEnergies’ Exploration & Production business. ‘This project, which follows TotalEnergies’ recent announcements regarding the extension of the Waha concessions, brings low-cost, low-emissions oil production in line with the Company’s strategy, and contributes to our objective of 3% annual production growth per year until 2030.’

TotalEnergies in Libya

TotalEnergies has been present in Libya since 1956. The Waha concessions are held by NOC (59.16%), TotalEnergies (20.42%) and ConocoPhillips (20.42%) and are operated by Waha Oil Company (WOC), a company 100% owned by NOC.

Original announcement link

Source: TotalEnergies

TotalEnergies has announced the restart of production at the Mabruk oil field in Libya, in which the Company holds an…

[34
23978,19354,23970,1144,23974,23973,19429,23975,23976,23977,23979,19372,5978,15695,23981,7817,23982,16102,5219,23980,23971,23983,23984,23972,21087,7992
0":"post-130913","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-libya","8":"tag-alternative-energy","9":"tag-drilling","10":"tag-e-p-news","11":"tag-energy","12":"tag-energy-pedia","13":"tag-energy365","14":"tag-exploration-and-production","15":"tag-farmin","16":"tag-farmout","17":"tag-geological-and-geophysical","18":"tag-heavy-oil","19":"tag-hydrocarbon","20":"tag-jobs","21":"tag-libya","22":"tag-licence-round","23":"tag-licensing","24":"tag-noc","25":"tag-offshore","26":"tag-oil","27":"tag-oil-and-gas-condensate","28":"tag-oil-and-gas-exploration","29":"tag-oil-and-gas-ministry","30":"tag-oil-companies","31":"tag-rig","32":"tag-seismic","33":"tag-upstream
["GET
