The government is
\nfully prepared to address any food crisis arising from failed rains and will
\nensure that no Kenyan suffers from hunger, Public Service, Human Capital
\nDevelopment and Special Programmes Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku has said.<\/p>\n

Speaking in
\nRunyenjes, Embu County, during the burial of the late Johnson Mbogo Kabuthi, CS
\nRuku said the government is closely monitoring the food situation across the
\ncountry.<\/p>\n

He acknowledged
\nthat some parts of Kenya are currently experiencing drought but urged citizens
\nto remain calm, assuring them that effective measures are already in place to
\nmitigate the situation.<\/p>\n

According to the
\nCS, the government has put in place robust mechanisms to guarantee food
\navailability for all Kenyans, regardless of their location, and is implementing
\nproactive interventions to cushion vulnerable communities.<\/p>\n

Ruku emphasized
\nthat food security remains a top priority for the Kenya Kwanza administration,
\nparticularly in the face of changing climate patterns that continue to affect
\nagricultural production.<\/p>\n

He noted that
\nthrough his ministry, the government has strengthened emergency response
\nsystems to support communities affected by drought and hunger, including the
\ndistribution of relief food to the most vulnerable households.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the last year
\nalone, my department has traversed many regions across the country to
\ndistribute relief food to Kenyans affected by drought and other calamities,\u201d
\nRuku said.<\/p>\n

He reiterated that
\nthe government will not allow any Kenyan to suffer due to lack of food.<\/p>\n

The CS also lauded
\nthe establishment of the National Infrastructure Fund, describing it as a game
\nchanger in the quest for long-term food security. He explained that part of the
\nfund will be directed towards water projects, including the development of irrigation
\ninfrastructure.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis fund will
\nenable us to invest in irrigation and improve access to water, ensuring
\nconsistent food production even during dry seasons,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Ruku reaffirmed
\nthe government\u2019s commitment to protecting Kenyans from hunger and building a
