{"id":1348,"date":"2026-01-03T22:48:23","date_gmt":"2026-01-03T22:48:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/1348\/"},"modified":"2026-01-03T22:48:23","modified_gmt":"2026-01-03T22:48:23","slug":"ambassador-kizige-urges-ugandans-to-apply-for-russian","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/1348\/","title":{"rendered":"Ambassador Kizige urges Ugandans to apply for Russian"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>__________________<\/p>\n<p>Uganda\u2019s ambassador to Russia, Moses Kizige, has urged Ugandans to apply for Russian scholarships, saying the territory is safe despite the war with Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>Kizige says the number of university scholarship slots have been increased from 50 to 200 for the next intake, which commences in September 2026, while international vocational skilling scholarships total to 1,540, but limited to females aged between 18 and 22 years.<\/p>\n<p>However, the ambassador says for one to ensure that they do not fall victim to conmen and fraudsters, Ugandans should send their applications through the Ugandan embassy in Moscow.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Russia\/Ukraine war is only in Ukraine. Russia is now safe, Ugandans are encouraged to apply for University and International vocational skilling scholarships for the academic year 2026\/2027,\u201d Kizige told\u00a0New Visionin an interview on New Year&#8217;s Day.<\/p>\n<p>This was during a fundraising ceremony for the compleition of the official residence of the Busoga Bishop at Jinja city-based Christ\u2019s Cathedral Bugembe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThough the scholarships are for the next academic year, the deadline is January 15, 2026.
